Sawmill Blade Cutting Log on Quarry Ledge

Heavy monsoon clouds blanket the sky, diffusing the harsh late-afternoon sun into a flat, grey illumination. A circular saw blade bites into a thick, rough-hewn log resting on a dusty quarry ledge near Tamale. Water droplets rest on the metal teeth of the spinning blade, while sawdust hangs suspended in the air as a fine, damp mist. The ground beneath the machinery is churned mud and stone, slick with recent rain. A Dutch angle tilt leans the entire industrial setup sharply to the right, showing the mechanical severity of the cut against the soft, overcast horizon. Rust streaks run down the steel frame, against the pale, wet wood grain of the log.
