Upward Rain Streaks in Yemeni Banyan Grove

by Johnny Sharpe

Thick mist rests on the base of ancient banyan trees where aerial roots descend to become thick, textured pillars. Silver streaks of rain move upward against gravity, cutting crisp lines through the low morning haze. The ground is a bloom-heavy meadow with small yellow and purple flowers pressing against the damp earth. Cool season light strikes the horizon, casting a soft golden glow that illuminates the falling water droplets. Each root system forms a dense, organic lattice. The silver rain lines reflect the pale dawn sky. Tiny dew drops rest on the green leaves, catching the light at the edge of the frame.
