Drone View Bamboo Forest Vietnam Rainy Season

by Vernon Patton

Emerald green bamboo stalks rise from the earth in a dense, rhythmic cluster, their vertical lines contrasting sharply with the flat, rectangular geometry of adjacent salt ponds. Soft, diffused light from an overcast sky eliminates harsh shadows, allowing the deep greens of the forest to blend seamlessly with the pale, mineral-crusted whites of the drying salt flats. Low clouds hang heavy above, breaking into small patches of brighter sky that cast subtle variations in tone across the landscape. A narrow causeway cuts a diagonal line through the frame, separating the organic chaos of the bamboo grove from the structured grid of the salt works. The wet ground glistens faintly, reflecting the gray sky, while the sharp edges of the salt pans create a stark, cartographic boundary against the natural forest.
