Temple Columns at The Deepest Night Sky Light in Luxor

Deep under a star-filled night sky, the massive sandstone columns of Luxor Temple stand in sharp relief against the darkness. A lone worker sits on a low wooden stool near the base of a papyrus-capital column, resting after a shift. Beside him, a small pile of books rests on the stone floor, their pages catching the faint light. A pair of kitchen tongs and a hacksaw lie on a nearby cloth, tools for maintenance work. The ancient limestone blocks show signs of age, with some porcelain-like tiles in the area displaying hairline crazing. A quiet, candid moment of labor and history intertwined in the heart of Egypt.
