Dusk Light on Mechanic in Luxor

Rain slicks the yellow limestone facade of a Luxor workshop, where a mechanic in a faded blue shirt leans over a motorcycle engine, his hands obscured by the low, gray dusk light. A ladder-back chair sits abandoned on the wet pavement nearby, its wood grain darkened by the drizzle, while a small dog shakes off water near the shop’s threshold. The glossy enamel of a nearby tea stall reflects the street’s neon glow, against the rough, sun-warmed stone wall that has absorbed the day’s heat. Raindrops bead on the metal screwdriver set left on a crate, and a saucer with cold tea sits on the edge of the workbench, untouched.
