Tail Light Trails in Marine Fog Before Sunrise

by Ruben Ayala

Pale amber streaks of red and white light stretch horizontally across a wide asphalt road, created by vehicles moving through thick, low marine fog. The mist rests on the ground, softening the edges of concrete barriers on the left and right. Faint, cool gray dawn light falls through the heavy vapor, revealing scattered dry leaves skittering across the wet pavement near the bottom edge. The long exposure blurs the cars into continuous ribbons of glowing color against the muted gray background. One orange reflector stands out on a metal post to the right, catching the diffuse glow while the surrounding air remains still and hazy.
