Stone Trullo in Winter Train Terminal

A restored train terminal in Changchun houses a solitary stone trullo with a conical roof, creating a striking architectural juxtaposition. Broad skylights flood the space with clear late-afternoon light, illuminating the rough-hewn gray stones of the structure. The trullo stands isolated on a polished floor, its whitewashed walls against the dark, heavy winter atmosphere outside visible through high terminal windows. Snow accumulates on the distant platform, while the interior retains a cozy warmth suggested by the soft glow on the stone surfaces. Shadows stretch gently across the floor, showing the height of the vaulted ceiling and the solid, grounded presence of the Italian structure within the industrial Chinese setting.
