Steam Train on PNG Mountain Switchback Before Sunrise

Low sunlight strikes the horizon haze, casting a thin band of gold across distant ridges while the foreground stays in deep, cool shadow. A narrow gauge steam train rests on a steep switchback track carved into the mountainside. The black engine releases a faint wisp of white vapor that hangs in the still air above the wet rails. Lush monsoon-green foliage rests on the slopes beside the track, its leaves slick with moisture. The metal rails gleam faintly under the dim light against the rough, dark texture of the surrounding vegetation. A diagonal line of the track runs from the lower left toward the upper right, creating tension as it curves sharply around the bend. The train sits motionless on the curve, its smoke drifting slowly upward.
