Spring Pool in Desert Canyon After Rain

Orange low-angle light washes over a floodplain near Cairo, illuminating a spring-fed pool nestled within a desert canyon. The water surface ripples violently as wind whips across the frame, scattering tiny droplets into the air. Dry, golden reeds bend sharply to the right, their frayed edges stark against the deep blue of the pool. Behind the water, the canyon walls rise in layered strata of sandstone, their textures sharpened by the turning season. The ground around the pool is a mix of wet mud and scattered pebbles, reflecting the sky in small, shattered patches. In the distance, the canyon mouth narrows, creating a tunnel of receding depth where the light fades into shadow. One twisted branch rests on the muddy bank, its bark rough and dark.
