Twilight Wind Dunes Frost Pool Cairo Ridge

Pale sand curves in a sharp ridge line above a shadowed depression where frost pools gather. The late summer air holds a fine mist of sea spray that settles on the cold ground. Deep evening shade covers the lower basin, while a thin rim of light traces the crest of the dune against the darkening sky. Layered foothills stretch into the distance, their forms softening in the twilight haze. The sand grains near the frost edge appear rough and wind-sculpted. A faint white haze lingers just above the frozen surface. The ridge casts a long, dark shadow that swallows the foreground entirely. Frost crystals sparkle faintly where the last light touches the highest grain.
