Thick, gray mist swallows the horizon where a gondola cabin ascends past a steel lift tower. Below, corduroy snow textures stretch across the slope in soft, undulating ridges, their white surfaces muted by the heavy fog. The cabin hangs suspended on a thin cable, its dark windows reflecting the pale, diffused light of first light. Steel supports rise vertically from the snowy ground, anchoring the structure against the fading night. Snowflakes seem to hang motionless in the air, blending with the low clouds that obscure the distant mountain peaks. The cable car moves slowly upward, disappearing into the white void. One shadow from the tower falls across the rippled snow, marking the edge of the illuminated path.
