Pale morning light breaks the horizon, painting a thin band of soft orange and violet across the sky above Queenstown. A cable car gondola ascends steeply, suspended against a backdrop of towering metal lift towers. Below, the ski slopes display the distinct ridges of corduroy snow, glowing white under the low sun. Wind visibly ripples the snow surface, creating a textured, undulating layer that stretches toward the mountain peak. The converging cables and support structures guide the eye upward into the hazy distance. A lone chair hangs empty on the adjacent line, swaying slightly in the breeze. The metal cables glisten with a faint sheen of moisture where the first light catches them.
