Golden late spring sunlight streams through high industrial windows, casting the interior of a Highland Park printing press room into deep silhouette. Scattered lead type pieces lie across the concrete floor, their metallic edges catching faint glimmers of the setting sun. A dense, metallic haze lingers just above the ground, diffusing the light into a soft, grayish glow. The room's architecture features converging lines of exposed beams and machinery that draw toward a distant vanishing point. Massive blast furnace structures loom outside, framing the scene with utilitarian force. The floor is rough and stained, against the smooth, heavy shapes of the loose metal type resting in the shadows.
