Pale morning light falls through a heavy mist, illuminating a peat bog where tufts of cotton grass stand stark against the gray sky. A thick layer of white frost coats every stem and blade, turning the soft vegetation into sharp, crystalline spikes. The subject sits on a ridge, silhouetted against the diffused glow of the pre-dawn horizon. Behind the grass, layered foothills fade into the atmospheric haze, their contours softened by the cool stillness. The ground appears damp and spongy beneath the frozen layer, with the frost catching the faint light to create a textured, shimmering surface. One frost-covered reed leans slightly, its tip resting just above the dark, wet peat below.
