Silhouetted Binturong on Branch Near Honolulu Reed Bed
Honeyed evening light fractures through the breaking storm clouds, turning a binturong into a dark, textured silhouette against the glowing sky. The animal balances on a thick, horizontal branch, its prehensile tail curling tightly around the wood in a secure grip. Behind the subject, a dense wall of reeds stands at the edge of the Honolulu wetland, their stalks sharp and vertical in the backlight. Water droplets rest on the coarse fur and the rough bark, catching faint glimmers of the fading sun. The monsoon air has cleared, leaving the foliage heavy with recent rain. A thin, dark branch in the immediate foreground creates a natural frame around the wildlife subject, isolating it against the luminous, misty background. at the edge is a single droplet sliding from the tip of the curled tail onto the branch below.
