Sheepdog Herding Flock in Gobi Desert Midday

Dust settles over a flat expanse of pale earth where a tight flock of sheep curves sharply under the command of a working dog. Soft, diffused light from an overcast sky eliminates harsh shadows, revealing the coarse texture of the animals' wool against the dry, cracked soil. To the left, a rustic windbreak stands near a weathered water trough, its metal surface dull and scratched. The landscape stretches into layers of distance, showing faint outlines of scrubby vegetation and distant dunes. The dog crouches low, muscles tense, while the sheep huddle together, their movements synchronized. A faint ripple of dust rises from the hooves of the rear animals as they pivot on the hard ground.
