Seychelles Octopus Curry Underwater Cape Town

Soft overcast light penetrates the exceptionally clear water, illuminating a ceramic plate of Seychelles octopus curry resting on the sandy seabed. Late autumn shadows stretch gently across the ocean floor. The curry, thick with spices and chunks of tender octopus, sits beside a mound of white rice, the grains distinct against the dark sauce. Slow-moving surface ripples distort the light into shimmering, dancing patterns that play across the food and the surrounding sand. Fine sediment floats lazily in the current, caught in the gentle updraft from the plate. The dish remains untouched, suspended in the luminous submerged mystery of the early morning. One grain of rice rests on the rim of the ceramic, catching a highlight from above.
