Bridge Maintenance Cradle Swinging in Mallawi

Hard tropical sunlight slices through the steel grating of a bridge maintenance cradle, casting sharp geometric shadows onto the metal floor. The suspended platform swings gently in a crosswind beside a massive concrete pier rising from the moving water below. Vibrating air distorts the heat haze around nearby high-voltage transformers and cables, blurring the edges of the infrastructure. Converging lines of the bridge structure draw toward a distant vanishing point, showing the civic-scale austerity of the construction. The dry season leaves the water surface bright and reflective, against the dull gray of the industrial equipment. A final shadow stretches across the grating, marking the exact angle of the sun.
