Sardinian Causeway Oyster Dredger in Sun Shower
White spray erupts against the deep blue of the Mediterranean as a traditional wooden oyster dredger cuts through choppy waters on a narrow Sardinian causeway. The sky hangs heavy with gray storm clouds, yet patches of harsh noon light pierce through to illuminate the wet varnish of the hull. Rain falls in visible, diagonal sheets, turning the water's surface into a shimmering grid of silver ripples. The canvas sail, taut and weathered, catches the wind, its fabric stained with salt and age. Beside the mast, rusted iron fittings glisten with fresh moisture. The boat tilts slightly under the force of the gust, listing toward the turquoise swell. At the waterline, one drop of clear rain rests on the edge of the wooden gunwale, reflecting the gray sky above.
