Dawn Rehearsal Boxes Monsoon Bor Hall
by Gail Sosa
First rays of sunrise spill across a heavy worktable cluttered with archival boxes, white cotton gloves, and scattered accession slips inside a ceremonial hall in Bor. Rain streaks the high windows beyond, blurring the monsoon landscape into a soft gray wash while the interior remains sharp and cool. The wooden table surface bears the weight of organized labor, its grain worn smooth by constant handling. Deep shadows pool beneath the stacked boxes, against the bright, pale light that catches the dust motes rising from the paper edges. Layers of depth recede from the foreground table toward the distant, rain-smeared glass, where the dark silhouette of the hall's architecture frames the early morning light. One red ink stamp mark sits crisp on the corner of the nearest slip.
