Sandstorm Wall Engulfs Highway Marker Abu Dhabi

Hard coastal glare cuts across a massive wall of tan sand rising abruptly against a pale blue sky near Abu Dhabi. A red and white highway marker stands in the foreground, its metal surface reflecting the intense midday light while the lower section vanishes into the swirling dust. Fast-moving cloud bands streak overhead, their undersides darkening the horizon where the storm front begins. Suspended particles turn the distant landscape into a soft, indistinct haze. Layers of depth recede as the storm advances, swallowing the flat desert floor and the faint outline of the road. The marker casts a sharp, dark shadow on the ground, at the base of the chaotic motion of the wind in a moment of stillness. Dust motes settle on the red paint of the sign.
