Bright midday sun bleaches the white salt flats near Kumasi, turning the ground into a shimmering expanse of crystalline texture. A worker stands waist-deep in the shallow, evaporated brine, gripping a long wooden rake with a weathered grip. The tool drags across the surface, gathering piles of coarse salt crystals that glint under the harsh light. Wind whips loose strands of hair and flutters the worker's loose clothing, showing the dry, cool season air. The low angle shot places the horizon line high, making the vast white rows stretch endlessly toward the sky. The rake creates a distinct furrow in the salt, revealing the wetter, darker layer beneath the dry crust. Dust and salt spray hang momentarily in the air before settling back onto the white surface.
