River Barge on Switchback Road Under Rain

Grey water reflects the dimming early evening sky as a heavy river barge navigates a tight switchback curve. Mist rises from the wake, blurring the dark hull against the wet asphalt. Cool season air hangs low, softening the edges of the concrete barrier. Raindrops create a fine, shimmering texture on the road surface, catching the faint ambient light. The vessel moves with deliberate slowness, its white cabin standing out against the slate tones of the water and sky. Behind the bow, spray lifts in a translucent veil, merging with the drizzle that coats the surrounding infrastructure. One ripple spreads outward from the hull, breaking the mirror-like surface of the river before fading into the dark current.
