Rain Streaks on Car Window Over Macau Harbor

Silver raindrops race diagonally across the glass, transforming the harbor mouth into a smear of gray and charcoal. Beyond the streaks, fogbound waters meet a low concrete breakwater under a sky heavy with dramatic, rolling clouds. The midnight hour casts a cold, flat light that flattens the distant silhouettes of harbor cranes into dark shapes against the gloom. Droplets rest on the lower edge of the pane, merging into rivulets that slide over the rubber seal. The view from the low angle emphasizes the height of the water against the vessel, while the blur of the rain creates clear rapid forward motion through the monsoon night.
