Silhouetted Prayer Flags Against Night Sky

Tattered prayer flags ripple violently in the wind, their rectangular shapes reduced to dark, jagged silhouettes against the faint glow of the night sky. The scene sits within a shadowed rocky saddle near Kathmandu, where dim devotional light spills from an unseen source to illuminate the edges of the fabric. Early autumn air is visible in the sharp, crisp movement of the cloth, which hangs from wooden poles anchored into the rough stone. Fragments of the dark sky peek through the gaps between the fluttering banners, creating a mosaic of voids and shadows. The wind pulls the material taut, revealing the texture of the worn cotton and the frayed threads that snap in the breeze. One flag edge catches the low light, glowing with a thin line of pale blue before disappearing into the surrounding darkness.
