Bright blue, white, red, green, and yellow prayer flags stretch taut across a rocky mountain saddle, their fabric rippling violently against the flat noon glare. The flags hang between jagged stone outcrops that frame a deep valley below, where early autumn colors begin to tint the sparse vegetation. Dramatic, heavy clouds gather on the horizon, casting shifting patches of cool reflected light across the weathered rock surfaces. The wind pulls the cotton material into sharp, horizontal lines, creating a rhythmic pattern of movement against the stillness of the ancient stone. A dark fissure in the foreground rock acts as a natural frame, focusing attention on the fluttering cloth and the distant, hazy peaks beyond.
