Rime Ice Summit Cross Leh Winter Blue Light
by Ashley Wolfe
Deep blue twilight blankets the high-altitude landscape near Leh, casting the foreground into heavy shadow while a sharp rim of pale light defines the edges of a stone summit cross. The cross stands encrusted in thick, white rime ice that clings to every jagged corner, transforming the dark metal and stone into a frosted sculpture. Beside it, a low cairn of rough rocks mirrors the icy texture, their surfaces dull against the brilliance of the frost. The perfectly clear sky above transitions from indigo to a faint, cold gray, offering no clouds to break the vastness. The ice formations catch the fading light, creating a stark contrast between the deep shadows of the ground and the glowing white edges of the frozen structure. at the edge is a thin, crystalline ridge of ice hanging from the crossbar, catching the last photon of the day.
