Winter Cairn and Prayer Flags at Leh Summit

Warm golden light washes over a stone cairn stacked beside a rocky pass above the tree line near Leh. Colorful prayer flags flutter in stiff winter air, their saturated reds, blues, and yellows standing out against the pale, low-hanging clouds that obscure the distant peaks. The season is deep winter; bare ground and scattered snow patches surround the base of the rock pile. A natural frame formed by jagged mountain ridges encloses the view, adding depth to the composition. The stone surfaces appear rough and weathered, catching the soft glow of the setting sun while shadows lengthen across the ridge. One blue flag edge hangs limp against the gray sky.
