Rim Lit Lupine in Punjab Shadow

Deep shadow covers the forest floor where ferns line the ground beneath a canopy of late autumn trees. A cluster of lupine blooms rises from the dark earth, their purple petals catching a sharp rim of golden sunlight that defines their edges. The light is weak, suggesting the sun has just crested the horizon, leaving the foreground in cool gray tones while the flower tops glow. Dried leaves scatter across the damp soil, creating a rough texture against the smooth stems. The background dissolves into soft, out-of-focus green and brown, providing negative space that isolates the plant. One shadow stretches across the fern fronds, at the base of the subject in the cool morning air.
