Standing water in the furrows mirrors the soft gray clouds above, creating a seamless sky on the ground. Fine chaff and dust drift through the air, catching the pale morning glow and obscuring the distant horizon slightly. The low angle emphasizes the length of the green stalks rising from the mud, their tips bending under the weight of dew. Wooden posts of the vineyard frame the left side, their rough texture against the slick, glassy surface of the flooded field. One clump of golden chaff rests on a dark water ripple near the foreground.
