Tropical afternoon light floods a narrow passageway carved from woven reeds near Guayaquil. Water droplets streak down the textured fiber walls, catching the bright sky visible through the overhead opening. The structure leans sharply to the right, creating a tilted perspective that emphasizes the height of the reed ceiling. Cool season air settles as a light drizzle dampens the surface of the organic material, darkening the golden-brown strands. Thick bundles of cane form the structural ribs, their rough surfaces glistening under the natural illumination. Rain beads on the horizontal slats before sliding into the shadows below. at the edge shows a single drop clinging to the edge of a reed slat before falling into the dark water below.
