Raindrop on Leaf Tip Pier Railing Samara

Pale green leaves curve sharply against the white painted wood of a pier railing. One clear water droplet rests on the very tip of the nearest leaf, refracting the bright late-afternoon light. The drop acts as a convex lens, distorting the blurred background of pale interior walls. Warm shadows stretch across the wood grain, casting deep orange tones where the railing meets the leaf. The surface of the leaf shows fine veins and a slightly rough texture under the broad skylight. The water bead remains perfectly spherical, holding the inverted image of the room. A tiny reflection of the window frame sits on the droplet's lower edge.
