Rain-streaked Window in Essaouira

Rain-slicked blue-painted wood frames of a traditional riad window catch the fading dusk light, with water droplets beading on the glass. Through the pane, a dimly lit interior reveals a cluttered but lived-in space where a ceramic watering jug sits on a rough stone sill next to a small seed tray holding young green shoots. Outside, the grey rain softens the vibrant azure of the door frame, while a single taper candle flickers on a table inside, casting a warm, wavering glow that contrasts with the cool, wet blue of the street. The hinge of the window is visible, slightly rusted, holding the heavy frame steady against the damp wind.
