Rafter in Turquoise Rapids at Blue Hour

Cyan water churns violently around a yellow raft as a rafter leans hard into the current. Diagonal white foam slices across the frame, creating sharp tension against the dark river surface. Distant orange lights from Türkmenabat glow softly on the horizon, against the deep blue twilight sky. The rafter wears a bulky dark jacket, and visible white breath hangs in the cold air near the helmet. Late spring vegetation lines the riverbank in muted greens. Water droplets suspend in mid-air near the paddle blade, frozen by the motion. The raft tilts precariously toward the upper right corner. A spray of water catches the fading light near the bow, glowing briefly before falling back into the dark surge.
