Predawn Moonlight on Abandoned Dam Spillway

Cold moonlight bleaches the rough concrete of an abandoned dam spillway near Timisoara, revealing deep fissures where water seeps in slow, dark rivulets. The structure looms with heavy monumentality against the predawn sky, its gray surfaces textured by decades of neglect. Heat shimmer distorts the air rising from sun-struck patches on the lower walls, creating a wavering veil over the wet stone. Leading lines of the spillway channel toward the shadowed archway in the distance. Early autumn leaves, turning brown and brittle, rest on the cracks in the masonry, while the water reflects the faint silver of the moon in the narrow channels carved by time.
