Steel-blue ambient light washes over a massive concrete penstock bend curving sharply above turbulent coastal water. The structure rises from low clouds, its clean, strong forms defining a civic-scale austerity. Wet concrete walls reflect the gray sky, while the churning water below churns white foam against the dark riverbed. Early spring air leaves the stone surfaces cool and damp. A worm's-eye view places the observer near the ground, looking up at the towering curve that dominates the frame. The heavy geometry contrasts with the chaotic motion of the water, creating a stark visual rhythm. A sharp edge of the concrete channel catches the faint last light, highlighting the rough texture of the cured surface.
