Silk Reeling Factory Night in Damascus

Cold moonlight spills across the concrete floor of a silk reeling facility near Damascus, illuminating rows of metal basins filled with hot water. White silk cocoons unwind into the steaming liquid, their threads catching the pale blue light. A metallic haze hangs low above the vats, glowing faintly where the steam rises. The industrial setting features rusted iron frames and worn wooden supports that line the room. Late spring air does not penetrate the enclosed space, leaving only the visual weight of the machinery and the suspended vapor. The scene is quiet, defined by the stillness of the water and the rigid geometry of the factory equipment. One droplet of condensation rests on the edge of a brass valve, reflecting the dim overhead glow.
