Okapi Browsing in Evening Blue Light

Steel-blue ambient light washes the clearing where an okapi stands with legs braced against the damp earth. The animal's deep chocolate coat contrasts with the faint white stripes on its hindquarters, visible as it lowers its head to browse on low shrubs. Dry season dust rests on the sparse undergrowth, and distant haze softens the horizon line where the forest meets the sky. The tight framing isolates the creature's alert posture, highlighting the tension in its neck muscles and the large, velvety ears swiveling forward. Moisture glistens on the fresh leaves near the snout, catching the fading light.
