A narrow back alley in Kuantan stretches into the distance under a heavy, overcast night sky. Cold moonlight falls through the clouds, illuminating the slick, wet pavement where water accumulates in shallow pools. Leaking neon signs from a corner cafe cast distorted streaks of pink and blue light across the gray asphalt. The wet ground reflects the fractured colors, creating a shimmering path that leads toward a darkened doorway at the far end. Scattered wind-stirred leaves rest against the curb, caught in the damp air. A rough concrete wall lines one side, while the edge of a cafe awning frames the top right, dripping a steady stream of water.
