Moth Wing Scales and Tears in Spring Rain Liguria

Powdery scales in muted slate and ochre cover the surface of a moth wing, each microscopic flake catching the soft, diffused light filtering through a late spring shower. Tiny, jagged tears puncture the delicate membrane near the wing's edge, revealing the dark void beneath. Flat, silver raindrops rest on the rough texture, refracting the overcast sky. The wing rests against a blurred backdrop of wet, green Ligurian foliage, where the heavy, saturated greens suggest early spring growth. A drop of water slides slowly down a vein, pooling at the edge of a tear. The powdery dust shifts slightly where the water touches, creating a momentary ripple in the dry, matte surface.
