Minnesota Construction Site Drone View Late Morning

by Scott Ball

Bright late morning light floods an excavation zone in Minnesota where yellow cranes dominate the view from behind. Fresh rain has left the red clay mud slick and dark, against the dry orange warning tape lining the excavation edge. Pools of water reflect the clearing blue sky above the heavy machinery. Piles of gravel and steel rebar sit in organized clusters across the churned earth. The cranes cast long, sharp shadows that stretch across the wet ground, showing the scale of the equipment. A layer of gray mist hovers just above the puddles before the sun burns it away. at the edge is a single orange safety cone tipping slightly on a muddy ridge.
