Milky Way Rising Over Utah Canyon Walls in under a dry plateau sky in Utah

Milky Way Rising Over Utah Canyon Walls

by Alfred Correa

A dense band of starlight stretches diagonally across a deep indigo sky, glowing with faint nebulous clouds. Below, massive sandstone cliffs rise vertically, their textured surfaces rendered in shadowed charcoal and deep rust hues by the weak moonlight. The canyon floor remains obscured in darkness, showing the sheer scale of the rock faces against the celestial expanse. A thin layer of atmospheric haze softens the horizon where the canyon meets the sky, diffusing the distant stars. Cold dry air hangs still, visible only in the clarity of the light. The highest ridge of the rock formation catches a sliver of pale moon glow, creating a sharp, jagged edge against the dark void.
