Melon Vines and Straw Mulch on Windy Belarus Field

Golden straw mulch blankets the sandy soil, crisscrossed by sprawling green melon vines stretching across the harvested grain field. Midday sun falls through overhead foliage, creating shifting patches of bright light and deep shadow on the textured ground. The sky above churns with dramatic, heavy clouds that cast a moody gray tone over the landscape. A stiff wind bends the low-lying vines, revealing the coarse, dry grains of the mulch beneath. In the distance, the flat horizon meets the turbulent sky, showing the scale of the agricultural operation. The vines end abruptly where the sandy earth meets the sparse, remaining stalks of the previous harvest. A curling vine tip rests against a clump of dried straw.
