Deep indigo twilight settles over a rugged cliff face where map lichen spreads in intricate, vein-like patterns of chartreuse and pale grey. Fine rain mist rests on the porous rock, turning the surface into a dark, wet canvas that reflects the faint, shimmering glow of the ocean below. The lichen creates a complex network of ridges and valleys across the stone, each branch distinct against the damp texture. Water droplets gather in the crevices, catching the cool blue ambient light from the sky and the sea. At the bottom edge, the rough stone meets the spray zone, where the salt has etched a white, crystalline crust into the crevices. The intricate, branching lines of the lichen seem to map the very topography of the cliff, standing out sharply against the deepening shadows of the rock.
