Lichen on Tide Stone Against Linen
Crimson and charcoal patches of lichen cling tightly to a dark, wet stone surface that bears the rough texture of tide-blackened rock. The stone rests directly against coarse, woven linen fibers that stretch across the frame with visible interlacing threads. Late winter light enters from the side, casting long, warm reflections that pool on the smooth curves of the stone and the matte weave of the fabric. The color palette shifts from the deep, saturated blacks of the wet rock to the pale, dusty beige of the untreated linen. Fine granular details of the lichen growth stand out sharply against the darker background, while soft, diffuse highlights trace the uneven edges where the stone meets the textile. one drop of moisture rests on the lower rim of the rock, catching the fading golden glow of the setting sun.
