Lightning Reflection in Substation Window in beside a water tower ladder near Pyongyang

Lightning Reflection in Substation Window

by Esteban Stanford

Bright tropical light illuminates a wet gravel surface where ground fog pools around the base of a steel ladder attached to a water tower. Beside this structure stands a small substation control cabin with a large glass window. A jagged bolt of lightning strikes outside, its electric blue flash reflected sharply across the cabin's dark pane. The wet stones glisten under the midday sun, against the pale gray mist hovering just above the ground. The ladder's rungs cast thin, linear shadows on the gravel. The reflection of the storm dominates the glass surface, appearing as a sharp, luminous fracture against the cabin's muted gray exterior walls. one drop of rain rests on the bottom corner of the window frame.
