Lanzhou Bridge Pier Tide Lines Mussels After Rain

Soft, diffused light from an overcast sky washes over a concrete bridge pier in Lanzhou, revealing horizontal tide lines scored deep into the gray stone. Clusters of dark mussels rest against the damp surface, their glossy shells catching the flat illumination. Low ground fog pools at the base of the pillar, obscuring the water's edge and filling the space beneath the span. Converging lines of the bridge structure stretch toward a distant vanishing point, establishing the engineered geometry against the organic texture of the wet mussels. The early spring setting shows visible dampness on every surface, with the fog hanging low along the riverbank.
