Irrigated Cornfield at Twilight with Fog

Soft blue twilight washes over rows of young corn in Enugu, where the wet season has filled the furrows with shallow water. A thin layer of fog hovers low above the glossy surface, diffusing the last amber glow that catches the tips of the tassels. The water reflects the fading sky, turning the ground into a mirror that stretches endlessly between the green stalks. Moisture beads on the broad leaves, and the soil looks dark and heavy with recent irrigation. Shadows deepen in the spaces between the plants, while the wet earth glistens under the dimming light. one drop of water rests on the edge of a leaf near the foreground.
