Iridescent Blanket Octopus Drifting Over Seagrass

Bright early afternoon sunlight penetrates the exceptionally clear water, illuminating a blanket octopus as it extends its vast, translucent membrane. The creature glides just above a dense meadow of green seagrass near Porto, its skin shimmering with shifting hues of blue and silver. Fine ripples on the water surface fracture the light into dancing patterns across the octopus's delicate tissues. The seagrass blades sway gently in the slow current, creating a textured green carpet beneath the floating cephalopod. The water remains remarkably still, showing the slow, fluid motion of the animal. A sharp shadow of the octopus's trailing tentacles falls directly onto the seagrass below.
