Infinite Crate Grid in Maryland Feedlot Rain

Galvanized metal hatch-date crates stack in orderly columns along a wet feedlot lane in Maryland. Early summer rain falls as a light drizzle, coating the straw, rubber mats, and paper bundles in a glossy sheen. Dappled sunlight falls through overhead leaves, creating patches of bright illumination against deep shadows on the corrugated surfaces. The background transforms into an impossible grid where hundreds of identical crates duplicate endlessly, stretching toward the horizon in a rigid geometric pattern. Raindrops rest on the metal edges, reflecting the gray sky above. A frayed rope rests in the foreground mud at the base of the surreal repetition, at the base of the impossible structure in tangible agricultural reality.
